4.104

師乃云。照眼雪迷。淨對千峯寒色。入林華信。暗傳一點春恩。物彙發萌。真機旋轉。生不生而何累。作無作而弗勤。不可以動靜拘。不可以地位著。所以道。唯一堅密身。一切塵中現。現虛空身。則寥寥無礙。現國土身。則處處相親。現眾生身。則心心順俗。現諸佛身。則念念證真。得一切處旋陀羅尼。圓一切種智波羅密。諸禪德。箇是大自在漢。受用底事。還相委悉麼。化權妙在東君手。玉尺金刀暗剪裁。

The Master then said: Illuminating the eyes, the snow blurs; cleanly facing the cold hues of a thousand peaks. Entering the grove, the news of blossoms silently transmits a drop of spring's grace. The myriad creatures sprout; the true mechanism turns. Generating without birth, what entanglement could there be? Acting without doing, no toil is spent. One cannot be restrained by movement or stillness; one cannot be fixated on stage or position. Therefore it is said: only the one firm and secret body appears within all dusts. Manifesting the body of empty space, it is vast and unobstructed; manifesting the body of the land, everywhere is intimate; manifesting the body of sentient beings, thought after thought complies with the mundane; manifesting the body of all buddhas, moment to moment realizes the true. Attaining the dhāraṇī of turning everywhere; fulfilling the pāramitā of all-aspect wisdom. Worthies of Chan, this is the affair enjoyed by the person of great mastery! Do you understand? The subtle transformative authority lies in the hands of the Lord of the East; jade ruler and gold shears silently cut and trim.
