上堂無法可說。釋迦於光耀土而掩門。有意相傳。達磨在少室山而面壁。知音者鑑。默照者神。道契環中而有智游。言滿天下。無口過。若能恁麼去。方知道離文字絕言語。清淨妙明。是諸人本所游踐處。作麼生體悉。還會麼。金鷄啄破瑠璃卵。玉兔挨開碧落門。

Ascending the hall: "There is no Dharma to speak: Śākyamuni shut his door in the land of radiant illumination. There was an intent to transmit: Bodhidharma faced the wall on Mount Shaoshi. Those who understand the tone recognize it; those who silently illuminate are spiritual. When the Way accords with the center of the ring, there is the wandering of wisdom. Though words fill the world, there is no fault of the mouth. If you can go on in this manner, only then will you know that departing from writing and cutting off speech, pure and wondrously bright, is the place where you originally tread. How do you comprehend it? Do you understand? The golden rooster pecks open the lapis lazuli egg; the jade hare pushes open the gate of the azure sky."
