上堂寒林濡露。明月濯波。時節恁麼。衲僧如何。廓一念不見有自。極十方不見有它。遍界通身無背面。莫教絲緒落機梭。

Ascending the hall: The cold grove is soaked in dew; the bright moon washes in the waves. The season being thus, what about the patch-robed monk? Open wide a single thought, and no self is seen; extend to the ten directions, and no other is seen. Pervading the world, through and through, there is neither front nor back; do not let tangled silk threads fall onto the loom's shuttle.
