示眾舉僧問清平。如何是有漏。平云笊籬。如何是無漏。平云木杓。如何是小乘。平云錢貫。如何是大乘。平云井索。師云。笊籬木杓。錢貫井索。受用見成。家風廓落。生涯放得信緣看。佛法更於何處著。不用安排只麼從。自然心地常安樂。

Instructing the assembly, [the Master] brought up: A monk asked Qingping, "What is with outflow?" Qingping said, "A bamboo strainer." "What is without outflow?" Qingping said, "A wooden ladle." "What is the Small Vehicle?" Qingping said, "A string of coins." "What is the Great Vehicle?" Qingping said, "A well rope." The Master said: "Bamboo strainer and wooden ladle; string of coins and well rope. Enjoyment is ready-made; the family tradition is open and spacious. When livelihood is relinquished, look at it trusting in conditions—where else can the Buddha Dharma be lodged? Without need for contrivance, just accord with it; naturally the mind-ground is constantly at peace and joy."
