施主看經請上堂。經云。若見諸相非相。即見如來。法眼云。若見諸相非相。即不見如來。師云。作麼生行履。得十成去。功業力爭英雄。劉項時將。太平坐享朴懋。羲軒世人。

Ascending the hall requested by a patron sponsoring sūtra chanting: "A sūtra says: 'If one sees that all characteristics are not characteristics, one sees the Tathāgata.' Fayan said, 'If one sees that all characteristics are not characteristics, one does not see the Tathāgata.'" The Master said: "How do you practice so as to achieve total perfection? Striving for heroic achievements through strength and warfare: generals of the era of Liu and Xiang. Sitting and enjoying the simple and robust in times of great peace: people of the ages of Fuxi and Xuanyuan."
