In studying the Buddha and investigating the wondrous of the ancestral school, one must purify the mind, submerge the spirit, silently wander, and inwardly contemplate. Thoroughly see the source of Dharma, without the slightest grain of mustard or fine hair forming an obstacle. Expansively forgetting forms, like water containing autumn; brightly shining and clear, like the moon outshining the night. Just at such a time, distinctly not dark, limpidly without taint, fundamentally as it is, constantly quiet and constantly shining. Its quietude is not caused by annihilation; its shining is not touched by shadow-affairs—empty, white, round, and pure, through vast kalpas unmoved, unshakeable, and unobscured. Able to be silent and able to know, in that place step stably. The jade vase turns on its side; with a single touch, the mechanism swivels, dividing the body to respond to the world. The world's locations and distinct realms of images are all established by oneself, arising together with my four elements—what obstruction is there? Since all is unhindered, other and self have no different marks, self and other have no separate names. Amidst sights and sounds, drifting, one transcends and distinctly accords. Therefore it is said: 'Mountains and rivers present no barrier; the bright light penetrates everywhere.' One should experience it like this.
