休歇也如大海受百川相似。無不到這裏一味。放行也如長潮乘疾風相似。無不來這畔同行。豈不是達真源底裏。豈不是得大用現前。衲僧家。隨機應變。恰恰恁麼。又幾曾立心想塵緣來。是須十成體取。

Resting is just like the great ocean receiving the hundred rivers—none fail to arrive here as a single taste. Letting go into action is just like the swelling tide riding the swift wind—none fail to come along on this side, traveling together. Is this not reaching the bottom of the true source? Is this not attaining the great function manifesting before you? As for the house of patch-robed monks, responding to situations and adapting to changes, it is precisely like this. How could they ever set up mental thoughts and dusty conditions? You must embody this completely ten out of ten.
