6.41

元元之本。冲而無像。動而有應。當須徹底覷破。孤峭峭露堂堂。獨靈靈明歷歷。都未帶一點子外緣。喚作單明時節。至如與萬像同出同沒。諸塵三昧起處。淨如海印。轉若盤珠。落落地遍一切。釘釘地非異緣。可謂獨耀無私底時節。夜月出而水明。春風吹而花發。不假功用。自然圜具。因因緣緣。果果報報。在其間無分外底。更須知道。光境俱亡。復是何物。

The primordial origin is calm and without form, moving and having responses. You must see thoroughly through it: solitary and steep, exposed and manifest, singularly spiritual, clear and distinct, not yet bearing a single speck of external conditioning—this is called the season of solitary brightness. As for emerging and submerging together with the myriad phenomena, the place where the samādhis of the various dusts arise: pure as the ocean-seal, turning like a pearl in a bowl, distinctly pervading all, firmly set without disparate conditions—this can be called the season of solitary illumination without bias. The night moon comes out and the water is bright; the spring wind blows and the flowers bloom. Without relying on effort, naturally and completely equipped. Causes and conditions, fruits and retributions—amid them there is nothing extra. You must further know: when light and realm are both forgotten, what is it then?
