乞食因循答教遲。想能心照未相疑。三年約友共連璧。
千里同風那隔絲。鞭箏嫰黃出泥土。
槿華寒紫裹藩籬。雨驅暑去晚明霽。來雁門頭字脚垂。

Because of begging for food, I was slow to reply to your teaching; / I imagine you understood in your heart without doubt. / For three years we pledged as friends to be linked as paired jades; / A thousand miles of the same style, how could a thread divide us? / Bamboo shoots, tender yellow, emerge from the soil; / Hibiscus flowers, cold purple, wrap around the hedge. / Rain drives away the heat, the evening clears bright; / Arriving wild geese lower the strokes of their letters at the gate.
