2.31

The robe of faith was entrusted at midnight to Lu Neng,
Agitating the seven hundred monks of Huangmei.
Linji's single branch of the true Dharma eye
Was destroyed by a blind donkey, incurring people's wrath.
Mind to mind sealing each other, patriarchs transmitting the lamp;
Levelling the seas and mountains, transforming into the kun and peng.
Just this nominal designation is difficult to compare;
Mainly, his methods knew how to overturn and leap.
