The patch-robed monk's place of truth lies in personal practice: thoroughly illuminating the source, the subtlest of the subtle, smoothly bright and translucent, of one color without a trace. You must further turn the body and cross over inside to attain it; therefore it is called being able to carry on the family business. The loom's threads do not snag; light and shadow are utterly vanished. Approaching the single path of the Father, the wonder lies at the substance; dust and dregs vanish, joints and categories disappear. Knowing cannot reach it; turning the head to seek realization, see through the skull. If you can thoroughly attain this within, you can then emerge and transform. Reeds and blossoms in the bright moon; at the ancient ferry, the boat sets sail. The jade thread and golden needle—at that moment, the mechanism turns. Entering the world to respond to conditions, every dust-mote is just this; every dharma is none other. Setting sail with the wind, you are naturally unobstructed.
