The Dharma realms of the ten directions arise from the one mind. When the one mind is quiet, all marks are extinguished. Which is other? Which is self? Precisely because at that time there are no differentiated marks, directly not a single speck of dust is established, not a single thought arises. Piercing through before the womb and after the skin bag, a point of wondrous brightness is round and seamless, without directions or corners, severed of signs and traces—truly it cannot be obscured. The unobscured place is called knowing oneself; just this place of knowing oneself is called original attainment. There is not the slightest hair of anything gained outside. Vast and expansive! Wondrously existing without form, truly heard without sound. Therefore it is said: 'It is not reached by ears or eyes.' This is the place of wondrous accord and ultimate arrival. Light emits from within it, and the great chiliocosm appears as a reflection. Each and every thing is him; all is the patch-robed monk's realm of personal enjoyment. Above all, it does not borrow from another's household affairs. You must unerringly and personally realize it before you have it. The scions of our house should act in this way.
