Pure and clear, surging and bright—the power of the eyes cannot reach its limits. Solitary, empty, and vast—the mind's conditions cannot grasp its corners. A person who truly investigates and genuinely reaches the bottom has faith that this is one's original ground. Buddhas and Māras cannot invade it; dust and defilement cannot stain it. Square and round are fittingly balanced; walking conforms to the measure. Then the wonderful functions, numerous as the sands of the Ganges, precisely assist one another. Emerging from this ground, exhausting everything from this ground—this matter is possessed by everyone. Just step forward and seek it out for me to see! The person who knows it nods in mutual recognition.
