The knots of the pine are old and hard; / On the cliff edges frost falls early. / Gulls are at leisure on the boundless sand; / Geese vanish into the vast grey mist. / The hexagram images: Qian is connected, Kun is broken; / Formed implements: the compass is round, the carpenter's square is square. / Meeting in the bustling marketplace, I casually bring it up: / The neighbor on the east has a short ladle, the neighbor on the west a long one.
