The vital energy is clear, the water autumnal; / The bones are cold, the wood withered. / Willow trees with blue eyes in deep spring; / Mountaintops with white heads in early snow. / Possessing the marks of a great being, / He falls into emptiness without alarm. / Possessing great strength, / When the wind blows, he falls right over. / These subtle points are difficult to transmit; / Tell the painter he has done it carelessly.
