上堂。斬鯨龍頭角。截虎豹爪牙。爛泥團受用不盡。踏著刺方見作家。其或未然。誰在畫樓沽酒處。相邀來喫趙州茶。

Ascending the hall: Slicing off the head and horns of the whale and dragon; lopping off the claws and teeth of the tiger and leopard. A muddy lump of clay has inexhaustible function; only by treading upon thorns does one see an expert. If perhaps it is not yet so: Who is at the painted tower where wine is sold, inviting one another to come and drink Zhaozhou's tea?
