中秋上堂。十五日已前。湖光瀲灔晴方好。十五日已後。山色空濛雨益奇。正當十五日。若把西湖比西子。淡粧濃抹總相宜。還有祖師西來意麼。中秋月似鸞臺鏡。贏得多才一首詩咄。

Ascending the hall at Mid-Autumn, [the Master said]: "'Before the fifteenth day, lake light rippling, fine weather is just right; after the fifteenth day, mountain colors hazy and misty, rain is all the more wondrous.' Right on the fifteenth day: 'If one compares West Lake to Xishi, light makeup or heavy powder are always fitting.' Is there still the meaning of the Ancestral Master's coming from the West? The Mid-Autumn moon is like the mirror of the phoenix terrace; / Earning a single poem from one of great talent. / Bah!"
