2.13

開爐上堂。只箇柴頭煨火種。諸方聿起競開爐。天童直截超宗處。爐與柴頭盡底無。恁麼却有煖氣。正好猛做工夫。且道。如何驀忽雷霆轟烈焰。從教深夜雪糢糊。

Ascending the hall for lighting the stove: / "With just this piece of firewood smoldering the embers, / Everywhere they vigorously vie to light the stove. / Where Tiantong directly transcends the lineage, / Both stove and firewood are gone to the very bottom! / Being like this, there is nevertheless warmth; / Just the right time to vigorously apply effort. / But tell me, how is it? / Suddenly thunderbolts roar with raging flames, / Letting the late night snow fall in dense confusion."
