垂示云。一機一境。一言一句。且圖有箇入處。好肉上剜瘡。成窠成窟。大用現前不存軌則。且圖知有向上事。蓋天蓋地又摸索不著。恁麼也得。不恁麼也得。太廉纖生。恁麼也不得。不恁麼也不得。太孤危生。不涉二塗。如何即是。請試舉看。

The pointer says: One dynamic function, one circumstance; one word, one phrase: temporarily intended to provide an entrance, gouging a wound in healthy flesh, forming nests and burrows. When the great function manifests before us, it does not keep to rules and regulations: temporarily intended to let you know there is the transcendent matter, covering heaven and covering earth, yet impossible to grope for. To be like this is acceptable, and not to be like this is acceptable—too fussy! To be like this is not acceptable, and not to be like this is not acceptable—too solitary and precipitous!
