10.47

【九九】舉。肅宗帝問忠問師。如何是十身調御（作家君王。大唐天子。也合知恁麼。頭上捲輪冠脚下無憂履）國師云。檀越踏毘盧頂上行（須彌那畔把手共行。猶有這箇在）帝云。寡人不會（何不領話。可惜許。好彩不分付帝當時便喝。更用會作什麼）國師云。莫認自己清淨法身（雖然葛藤。却有出身處。醉後郎當愁殺人）。

[Case 99] Case: Emperor Suzong asked National Teacher Zhong: "What is the tamer of the ten bodies?" (An adept sovereign, the Son of Heaven of the Great Tang; he too ought to know such a thing. On his head a rolled-crown, on his feet sorrow-free sandals.) / The National Teacher said: "Patron, walk atop the head of Vairocana!" (Walking hand in hand beyond Mount Meru—there is still this one.) / The Emperor said: "We do not understand." (Why not take up the words? What a pity! Good thing he did not hand it over. If the Emperor had shouted right then, what further need would there be to understand?) / The National Teacher said: "Do not mistakenly identify your own pure Dharma body." (Although entangling vines, there is still an escape. Utterly messy when drunk, driving one to despair.)
