2.26

【一六】舉僧問鏡清。學人啐。請師啄（無風起浪。作什麼。爾用許多見解。作什麼）。清云。還得活也無（剳。買㡌相頭。將錯就錯。不可總恁麼）僧云。若不活遭人怪笑（相帶累。撐天拄地。檐板漢）。清云。也是草裏漢（果然。自領出去。放過即不可）。

[Case 16] A monk asked Jingqing, "The student pecks from within; I ask the Master to peck from without." (Raising waves where there is no wind. What are you doing? What are you using so many views and understandings for?)
Qing said, "Can you still get life or not?" (Piercing. Buying a hat according to the head. Making the best of a mistake. One must not always be like this.)
The monk said, "If I do not get life, I will be blamed and laughed at by people." (Implicating each other. Propping up heaven and supporting earth. A board-carrying fellow.)
Qing said, "Also a fellow in the grass." (Indeed. Take yourself away. It is impermissible to let him go.)
