蓮花荷葉報君知（老婆心切。見成公案。文彩已彰）出水何如未出時（泥裏洗土塊。分開也好。不可儱侗去也）
江北江南問王老（主人公在什麼處。問王老師作什麼。爾自踏破草鞋）
一狐疑了一狐疑（一坑埋却。自是爾疑。不免疑情未息。打云。會麼）

"Lotus flowers and lotus leaves, I announce to you: (Grandmotherly heart is earnest. An accomplished gong'an. The pattern is already manifest.) / How can emerging from the water compare to when it has not yet emerged? (Washing a clod of dirt in the mud. It is fine to separate them; one must not homogenise them.) / North of the river, south of the river, you ask Old Wang; (Where is the host? Why ask Old Teacher Wang?
