[33] Case: Minister Chen Cao visited Zifu. When Fu saw him coming, he immediately drew a circle. (A spirit recognizes a spirit; a thief recognizes a thief. If one is not refined, how could one recognize this fellow? Do you see the diamond ring?) / Cao said, "For your disciple to come like this is already inappropriate; how much more so to draw another circle?" (Today he ran into a sleepy fellow. This old thief!) / Fu then shut the door of the abbot's quarters. (A thief does not burgle a pauper's house. Already entered into his snare.) / Xuedou said, "Chen Cao only possesses one eye." (Xuedou possesses an eye atop his crown. Tell me, where does his intent lie? It is also fine to give him a circle. Truly a dragon's head and snake's tail. At that time one should have given him a pressuring push, leaving him no door to advance and no road to retreat. But tell me, what kind of pressuring push should have been given him?)
