垂示云。途中受用底。似虎靠山。世諦流布底。如猿在檻。欲知佛性義。當觀時節因緣。欲煅百鍊精金。須是作家爐韛。且道大用現前底。將什麼試驗。

The pointer says: One who functions halfway along the road is like a tiger leaning against a mountain; one who circulates within conventional truth is like an ape in a cage. If you wish to know the meaning of Buddha-nature, you should observe the conditions of time and season; if you wish to forge hundred-times-refined pure gold, it takes the hearth and bellows of an adept. Tell me: for one before whom the great function is manifested, what do you use to test him?
