4.41

【三九】舉。僧問雲門。如何是清淨法身（𡏖圾堆頭見丈六金身。斑斑駁駁是什麼）門云。花藥欄（問處不真。答來鹵莽。𡎺著磕著。曲不藏直）僧云。便恁麼去時如何（渾崙吞箇棗。放憨作麼）門云。金毛獅子（也褒也貶。兩采一賽。將錯就錯。是什麼心行）。

Case: A monk asked Yunmen, “What is the pure Dharmakāya?” (Atop the garbage heap he sees the sixteen-foot golden body. Dappled and mottled, what is it?)
Yunmen said, “A flower-medicinal hedge.” (Where he asks is not genuine; the answer given is reckless. Bumping and knocking against it; the crooked does not conceal the straight.)
The monk said, “What about when going along just like this?” (He swallows a jujube whole. Why act foolish?)
Yunmen said, “A golden-haired lion.” (Both praising and disparaging; two casts in one contest. Taking the error and going with the error. What kind of mind-action is this?)
