【七〇】舉。溈山五峯雲巖。同侍立百丈（阿呵呵。終始誵訛。君向西秦我之東魯）百丈問溈山。併却咽喉唇吻。作麼生道（一將難求）溈山云。却請和尚道（借路經過）丈云。我不辭向汝道。恐已後喪我兒孫（不免老婆心切。面皮厚三寸。和泥合水。就身打劫）。

[Case 70] Guishan, Wufeng, and Yunyan were together in attendance standing before Baizhang. (Aha! Confused from beginning to end. You go to Western Qin, and I to Eastern Lu.) / Baizhang asked Guishan: "Shutting tight the throat and lips, how will you speak?" (A general is hard to find.) / Guishan said: "I invite the venerable monk to speak instead." (Borrowing the road to pass through.) / Baizhang said: "I would not refuse to speak to you, but I fear that later on it would ruin my descendants." (He cannot avoid his grandmotherly heart being earnest. His face is three inches thick. Mixing with the mud and joining with the water, he commits a robbery right on his own body.)
