和尚有也未。雪竇據欵結案。是則是。只是金毛獅子。爭柰不踞地。獅子捉物。藏牙伏爪。踞地返擲。物無大小。皆以全威。要全其功。雲巖云。和尚有也未。只是向舊路上行。所以雪竇云。百丈向大雄山下空彈指。

"Does the Venerable have it or not?" Xuedou concludes the case according to the confession. It may be so, but it is just a golden-haired lion—alas, it does not crouch on the ground! When a lion catches prey, it conceals its teeth and hides its claws, crouches on the ground, and pounces; whether the prey is large or small, it always uses its full might, seeking to accomplish its work completely. Yunyan said, "Does the Venerable have it or not?" He was merely walking on the old road. Therefore Xuedou said that Baizhang snapped his fingers in vain at the foot of Mount Daxiong.
