【八七】舉。雲門示眾云。藥病相治（一合相不可得）盡大地是藥（苦瓠連根苦。擺向一邊）那箇是自己（甜瓜徹蔕甜。那裏得這消息來）治（澄之切。攻理也。音持）。

[Case 87] Case: Yunmen addressed the assembly and said, "Medicine and sickness cure each other. (An integrated whole is unattainable.) The entire great earth is medicine: (A bitter gourd is bitter right down to its roots; brush it aside.) what is oneself?" (A sweet melon is sweet right through to its stem; where did you get this news?)
治: Pronounced like *chi* [chí]; to work upon, to treat.
