舉。東印土國王。請二十七祖般若多羅齊（往往償口債去也）王問曰。何不看經（無功受祿寢食不安）祖云。貧道入息不居陰界。出息不涉眾緣。常轉如是經。百千萬億卷（上來講讚無限勝因）。

Case: The king of an East Indian country invited the Twenty-seventh Patriarch, Prajñātāra, to a vegetarian meal. (More often than not, going off to pay oral debts.) The king asked, 'Why do you not read the scriptures?' (Receiving emolument without merit makes eating and sleeping uneasy.) The Patriarch said, 'This poor path-farer's inhalation does not abide in the skandhas or dhātus; exhalation does not involve the myriad conditions. I constantly turn such a scripture in hundreds, thousands, myriads, and kotis of scrolls.' (Carried away by praising and eulogizing boundless excellent causes.)
