2.30

舉。雲巖掃地次（沙彌行童不得氣力）道吾云。太區區生（埋兵挑鬪）巖云。須知有不區區者（可惜話作兩橛）吾云。恁麼則有第二月也（豈止第二百千萬箇）巖提起掃帚云。這箇是第幾月（水晶宮裏出頭來）吾便休去（盡在不言中）玄沙云。正是第二月（一人傳虛萬人傳實）雲門云。奴見婢殷勤（隨邪撲簸箕）。

Case: Yunyan was sweeping the ground. (Novices and postulants get no rest.) Daowu said, 'Too busy and toilsome!' (Concealing troops and provoking a fight.) Yunyan said, 'You should know there is one who is not busy and toilsome.' (A pity to split the talk in two.) Daowu said, 'If so, then there is a second moon.' (How could there be only two hundred, thousand, or ten thousand?) Yunyan held up the broom and said, 'Which moon is this?' (Sticking his head out from the crystal palace.) Daowu then rested. (Everything is in what is left unsaid.) Xuansha said, 'It is precisely the second moon.' (One person spreads an untruth and ten thousand take it as real.) Yunmen said, 'The manservant sees the maidservant with attentive eagerness.' (Following the crooked, he throws down the winnowing basket.)
