舉。德山圓明大師。示眾云。及盡去也（有這箇在）直得三世諸佛口掛壁上（留取喫被）猶有一人呵呵大笑（且道是誰）若識此人（是何面目）參學事畢（與椀茶喫）。

Case: Great Master Yuanming of Deshan instructed the assembly, saying: "When it is completely reached (this one is present), so that the mouths of the buddhas of the three periods are hung on the wall (keep them to eat porridge), still there is one person laughing ha-ha! (And tell me, who is it?) / If you recognize this person (what face is it?), your business of study is completed." (Give him a bowl of tea to drink.)
