A monk asked: 'What is snatching away the environment but not the person?' The Master said: 'The royal command has already circulated throughout the empire; the general beyond the frontier has eliminated smoke and dust.' (Dahui said: 'The upper phrase snatches away the environment, and the lower phrase preserves the person.')
