問雪峯。如何是學人自己。峯云。築著鼻孔。僧舉似師。師云。爾作麼生會。其僧方思惟。師亦以前頌示之（雪峯廣錄）。

A monk asked Xuefeng, "What is the student's own self?"
Xuefeng said, "Bumping into your nostrils."
The monk cited this to the master. The master said, "How do you understand it?"
Just as the monk was contemplating, the master also showed him the previous verse. (From Xuefeng guanglu).
