"The pure nature of tathatā is the true Buddha; / wrong view and the three poisons are the true Māra. / For a person of wrong view, Māra is in the house; / for a person of right view, the Buddha is in the hall. / When wrong view and the three poisons arise within the nature, / that is the demon king coming to dwell in the house. / When right view suddenly removes the mind of the three poisons, / Māra transforms into a Buddha, truly and without falsity. / The nirmāṇakāya, saṃbhogakāya, and dharmakāya— / the three bodies are originally one body. / If one seeks and sees them oneself within the nature, / that is the cause of bodhi for attaining Buddhahood. / Originally, from the nirmāṇakāya the pure nature is born; / the pure nature is ever present within the nirmāṇakāya. / The nature causes the nirmāṇakāya to practice the right path; / in the future, perfection will truly be boundless. / The nature of desire is originally the cause of the pure nature; / removing desire, there would be no body of pure nature. / Within the nature, simply detach from the five desires on your own; / the instant you see the nature, that itself is the real. / If in this life you awaken to the gate of the sudden teaching, / upon awakening you will see the World-Honoured One right before your eyes. / If you wish to cultivate and seek to find the Buddha, / not knowing where, where do you intend to seek the real? / If you can possess the real within your own mind, / having the real is the cause of attaining Buddhahood. / Not seeking the real in oneself but seeking the Buddha outside, / one who goes seeking is altogether a great fool. / The Dharma of the sudden teaching flowed from the West; / to save worldly people, one must cultivate oneself. / I now announce to students of the path in the world: / if you do not rely on this view, you will remain utterly adrift."
