我佛金口所宣。盈于海藏。蓋亦提誘後學。師之智慧辯才。演暢萬法。明了一心。禪際河遊。慧間雲布。數而稱之。莫能盡紀。聊為小序。以頌宣行云爾。

What our Buddha proclaimed with his golden mouth fills the oceanic treasury, also intended to guide and encourage later students. With the master's wisdom and eloquence, he unfolded and expounded the myriad phenomena, illuminating the one mind. In Chan he swam across rivers; in wisdom he spread clouds. Even enumerating and praising them, one could never record them completely. I have merely composed this brief preface to extol and promote its circulation.
