問。夫感應之道。皆由情徹冥契。故致事効於當時。內外理應是同。如婦人詣情幽冥。城為之崩。孝至而石開。此即事隨心變。云何以善感丈六。而云是虛幻身耶。

Question: The way of resonance and response always occurs because feelings penetrate and secretly tally, thereby bringing about an effect in the immediate situation. The principle of the internal and the external should be identical. For instance, when a woman reached the depths of feeling in the unseen realm, a city wall collapsed for her; when filial piety reached its utmost, a stone split open. This is phenomena transforming according to the mind. How can it be said that one resonates with the sixteen-foot [body] through goodness, yet it is an empty and illusory body?
