36.36

答。道無諍。何得諍同水火。今明用三昧。修中道第一義諦。開無明。顯法性。忘真緣。離諍論。言語法滅。無量罪除。清淨心一。水若澄清。佛性寶珠自然現也。見佛性故。即住大涅槃。

Answer: The Way is free of contention; how could contention be like water and fire? Now it is explained that employing samādhi to cultivate the supreme truth of the middle way opens up avidyā and reveals the dharmatā, forgets the real and the conditioning, and departs from contentious disputation. When the dharma of verbal expression is extinguished, immeasurable sins are removed, the pure citta is unified, and if the water is clear, the jewel of buddha-nature naturally appears. Because one sees the buddha-nature, one immediately abides in the great nirvāṇa.
