答心法總有四義。一是事。隨境分別。見聞覺知。二是法。論體唯是生滅法數。此二義。論俗故有。約真故無。三是理。窮之空寂。四是實。論其本性。唯是真實如來藏法。

Answer: The citta-dharma generally has four meanings. The first is phenomenon: distinguishing according to objects in seeing, hearing, perceiving, and knowing. The second is dharma: in terms of substance, it is merely the conditioned arising and ceasing of caitasikas; these two meanings exist from the standpoint of the conventional, but are non-existent from the standpoint of the true. The third is principle: when investigated to the end, it is empty and quiescent. The fourth is reality: in terms of its original nature, it is solely the true and real tathāgatagarbha dharma.
