答。將第三義簡。論云。三有增減。若有勝用。可增可減。攝植習氣。乃是能熏。此遮佛果圓滿善法。無增無減。故非能熏。彼若能熏。便非圓滿。前後佛果。應有勝劣。

Answer: Setting them aside by means of the third criterion, the treatise says: 'Third, having increase and decrease. If it has superior function and can increase or decrease, implanting habits (vāsanā), it is an active perfumer.' This excludes the wholesome dharmas perfected in the Buddha-fruit, which neither increase nor decrease; hence they are not active perfumers. If they could perfume, they would not be consummate; and the Buddha-fruit before and after would have superiority and inferiority.
