問。多人共變名共者。如有一樹。二十人共變。有二十重相分。忽被一人斫却此樹。自相分無。可名唯識。餘十九人相分亦無。應非唯識。以自不斫故。

Question: If the shared transformation by multiple persons is called 'shared', suppose there is a tree that twenty people transform together, so that there are twenty layers of nimittabhāga. If one person suddenly chops down this tree, his own nimittabhāga ceases to exist, which can be called vijñaptimātra; but the nimittabhāga of the remaining nineteen people also ceases to exist, which should not be vijñaptimātra, since they did not chop it down themselves.
