50.26

問。至聖垂慈。覺王應跡。以廣長之舌相。出誠實之微言。於無名相中。布難思之教海。以假名相說。演無盡之義宗。且如第八識心。本無名相。隨位立號。因執得名。至何位次之中。而捨虛假之稱。

Question: The Supreme Sage bestowed compassion, and the King of Enlightenment manifested traces: with the characteristic of a broad and long tongue, he uttered subtle words of truthfulness; amidst the absence of names and characteristics, he spread the inconceivable ocean of teachings; speaking by means of nominal characteristics, he expounded the inexhaustible source of meaning. Now, as for the mind of the eighth consciousness, it originally has no name or characteristic; titles are established according to stage, and designations are acquired due to grasping. At which stage are these provisional designations relinquished?
