答。小乘亦許眼識不親緣餘四塵。以離眼識故。但使他宗許有不親緣離自識色。即是宗依極成也。

Answer: The Hīnayāna also accepts that visual consciousness does not directly cognize the other four sense-objects, because they are separate from visual consciousness. As long as the other school accepts that there is ‘not directly cognizing matter separate from its own consciousness’, then the basis of the thesis is well-established.
