63.30

答曰。如來方便。漸令眾生得入我空。及法空。故說有內識。而實無有內識可取。若不如是。則不得說我空法空。以是義故。虛妄分別。此心知彼心。彼心知此心。

Answer: As an expedient means, the Tathāgata gradually leads sentient beings to attain entry into the emptiness of the self and the emptiness of dharmas, and therefore taught that there is internal consciousness, but in reality there is no internal consciousness that is grāhya. If it were not so, then one could not speak of the emptiness of self and the emptiness of dharmas. For this reason, by false discrimination, this mind knows that mind, and that mind knows this mind.
