78.26

識論問。云何名為四大轉變。彼四大種種轉變。動手脚等。及口言說。令受罪人。生於驚怖。如有兩羊。從兩邊來。共殺害。彼地獄眾生。見有諸山。或來或去。殺害眾生。以是義故。不得說言。唯有內心。無外境界。

The Vijñaptimātratāsiddhiśāstra asks: “How is it called the transformation of the four great elements? Those four great elements transform in various ways, moving hands and feet and speaking words, causing the sinner to give rise to terror. For example, two rams come from both sides and strike together to kill; those sentient beings of hell see mountains either coming or going to crush and kill sentient beings. By this meaning, one cannot say that there is only internal mind and no external objects.”
