故答云。自體顯現。如珠有光。自照珠體。珠體喻心。光喻於智。心之體性。即諸法性。照諸法時。是自照耳。故論文甚分明。

Therefore, the answer says: 'The self-substance manifests, just as a jewel has radiance that illuminates the jewel's own substance.' The substance of the jewel illustrates the citta; the radiance illustrates wisdom. The nature of the substance of the citta is the nature of all dharmas. When it illuminates all dharmas, it is merely illuminating itself. Therefore, the text of the treatise is extremely clear.
