Examining it closely, within the realm there are three teachings. Rectifying ruler and minister, bringing intimacy between father and son, and solidifying human relations: Confucianism is my teacher in this. Tranquil and vast, beyond what sight and hearing can attain; ascending from the subtle to the void, culminating in riding the wind and chariot of the sun; if the ruler attains it he establishes well and remains unshakable, and if a person attains it blessings are prolonged without end: Daoism is the teacher of Confucianism. The caturāryasatya, dvādaśāṅgapratītyasamutpāda, the three clarities, and the eight liberations: practicing them constantly without forgetting, cultivating them daily to attain them, once ascending to the fruit ground one forever reaches the true and eternal: Śākya is the source of the Way. Yet these three teachings are all cultivated from citta. The Record of the Mirror of Citta was composed by Chan Master Zhijue. Totaling one hundred fascicles, it embraces all subtle words.
