Abide in non-negligence. Because one abides in such non-negligence, one constantly reflects to oneself: 'If my lifespan could still endure for seven days, six days, five days, four days, three days, two days, one day, an hour, half an hour, or a kṣaṇa; or for the space of a meal; or from an inhalation to an exhalation, or from an exhalation to an inhalation—as long as I remain alive for such a time, I will diligently direct my attention to the Buddha's holy teachings and cultivate yoga; during this time, I will resolve to accomplish much in the Buddha's holy teachings.' This is called unslackened application."
