Now, that which is termed the "Mirror of the Source" has its great purport shining brightly. Although doubts were resolved previously through question and answer, it was still feared that it would be difficult to believe. While those of superior faculties merely peruse it and immediately enter the gate of dhāraṇī, those of middling and lower faculties, though they observe it, still fall into the ground of fox-like doubts. Now, once again for those whose power of faith is not yet deep and whose subtle doubts remain unsevered, I shall further cite the subtle words from one hundred and twenty Mahāyāna sūtras, one hundred and twenty texts of patriarchal sayings, and sixty collections of the sages and worthies—three hundred works in all—synthesizing the true teachings of the One Buddha Vehicle. It can be said that by raising a single word, the boundless ocean of teachings is gathered; by establishing a single principle, the inexhaustible true expositions are subsumed. Citing each source is identical to an exhaustive viewing of the Dragon Palace; gathering successive layers of testimony is like hearing it directly at Vulture Peak. It universally causes those who sleep among the clouds and stand in the snow to sit and consult good spiritual friends; it subsequently leads those who investigate principles and explore the profound to enter completely into the Perfect Source. Seeking the groves of the ancient buddhas is like facing the blazing sun; treading the thresholds of the ancestral teachers is like gazing into the pristine sky. The Great Awakening is resplendent: right within the fleshly eye, the buddha-eye is completely realized; doubtful sentiments suddenly open up: right within the ordinary citta, the true mind is revealed. It may indeed be called immediate knowledge: pointing to the dharmadhātu within one's palm, it is forthwith identical to personal realization, finding the wondrous purport within one's bosom.
