The Xianzheng lun says: “Question: What meaning is intended to be revealed so that it is called ‘revealing the correct’? Answer: It is intended to clearly reveal that the fundamentally pure, unarisen substance of mind of all sentient beings is precisely the correct nature of all Buddhas. Why is this? All myriad phenomena take the mind as their root. Yet this nature of mind has nothing whatsoever upon which it relies; its substance is naturally consummate and unobstructed by the myriad phenomena. Although responding and manifesting as the myriad phenomena, its nature is intrinsically ever-true, without abiding and without reliance, beyond grasping and discarding.”
