The Huayan lun says: “Just as the great ocean possesses the virtue of purity and is able to reflect the seven golden mountains and the like, the mind-ocean of sentient beings reflects the six destinies and the four forms of birth, clearly and distinctly manifesting the mountains, rivers, the great earth, form, emptiness, light, darkness, and so forth.”
